STATEMENT
Indigo Rodríguez is a multidisciplinary artist and writer, working primarily in printmaking. His work is centered on the spectrum of lived experience (particularly the parts subject to erasure) and the confrontational nature of normative assumptions. He calls many of his works “conversation pieces” — as they are an unspoken response giving voice to alternative experiences that are constantly silenced by the assumed norm. Through the elevation of eyesores, working with materials in disrepair, he challenges what is thought to be worthy of artistic attention.
